The lighthouse is adjacent to the Torre Minerva, a massive square defensive tower built by Roberto il Saggio, an Angevin king of Naples, around 1300. Located at the tip of the Sorrentine Peninsula about 3 km south of Marciano. There is currently no public road access to the site. ARLHS # ITA-243 (E 1702)
