Located approximately half way between Prince Edward and Toronto, Cobourg served as an important harbor of refuge and the first government lighthouse was established here in 1844. The present utilitarian reinforced concrete structure was erected in 1915.
Take Division street to its western end and you can drive onto the pier for a short walk out to the light
