Kuşadasi ("Bird Island") is a resort town and cruise ship port on the Turkish mainland northwest of the Greek island of Samos. The ruins of ancient Ephesus are nearby. The town got its name from the island on which the lighthouse is located, since the island is shaped like a bird's head.
