GPS Points of Interest |
All of the Geographic coordinates are available on the maps, but many of you may have access to an in-car GPS. I have built my best known coordinates into a series of Point of Interest (POI) files that can assist your studies. You can't drive your car to all these lights, some of them will require you dismount your GPS and take it with you on a boat, but I've tried to be comprehensive in my coverage.
All of these are in Tom-Tom propietary format. some are provided in Garmin format, and I've been told that a number of convertors are available. For the Tom-Tom, you need two files, the first is the TomTom ov2 file, the second is an icon to display the point. I have attached my choice of Icon for your use if you so choose.
All of these files have been given "Web friendly" names. I suggest you rename to GPS friendly names before loading onto your GPS. (Note carefully that some of these coordinates are base on web research, not my personal travel. Updates would be appreciated.)

These files were constructed using Tyre (Trace your Route everywhere) software. This software will allow you to upload these files directly to your Tom-Tom. I'm assuming similar abilities exist with other GPS manufacturers. You can get Tyre from the web.
